It’s spring! I have a very nice little covered deck at my place. I have never gardened because I have always been a renter, and I rent still, but this year I’d like to have some plants out there. Lots of flowers, nothing gaudy, and a few nice greens too. These all have to be potted plants, of course, although I wouldn’t be averse to doing one small/medium box. I need some advice about what plants to get. Remember, I’m in Maine, so it doesn’t get really hot until July and then only for a week or so.

I know nothing about plants and they tend to wither under my gaze, so, the harder to kill the better. Any help from my tumblr friends would be appreciated. And I’ll post pictures of the whole process.

Hydrangeas.  They’re just about impossible to kill, don’t need a ton of sun, and their flowers are huge and joyful. Will momentarily post a pic of my NYC deck, with hydrangeas.
